עֲלֵי יְרָקוֹת יְרֻקִּים, מִצְטָרְפִין. וּלְבָנִים, אֵינָן מִצְטָרְפִין. רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר בַּר צָדוֹק אוֹמֵר, הַלְּבָנִים מִצְטָרְפִים בַּכְּרוּב, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהֵן אֹכֶל. וּבַחֲזָרִים, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהֵן מְשַׁמְּרִין אֶת הָאֹכֶל:
As folhas verdes dos vegetais se juntam [aos vegetais para contar para a medida da impureza], e as brancas não se juntam. O rabino Elazar bar Tzaddok diz: os brancos do repolho se juntam, pois são comestíveis; e também de alfaces, pois preservam a parte comestível.

Onions on which rain fell and which had sprouted, if their leaves had turned black, they are forbidden; if they had become green they are permitted. Rabbi Hanina ben Antigonus says: if they can be plucked out by their leaves, they are forbidden. In the year after the sabbatical year, the like of these are permitted.
