סִדֵּר הַמַּעֲרָכָה גְדוֹלָה מִזְרָחָה, וַחֲזִיתָהּ מִזְרָחָה, וְרָאשֵׁי הַגִּזְרִין הַפְּנִימִיִּם הָיוּ נוֹגְעִים בַּתַּפּוּחַ. וְרֶוַח הָיָה בֵין הַגִּזְרִין, שֶׁהָיוּ מַצִּיתִין אֶת הָאֲלִיתָא מִשָּׁם:

Ele [o padre] organizou a grande pira em direção ao leste [lado do altar], e ela "olhou" [pequenas aberturas] em direção ao leste [lado] e as extremidades das toras internas tocariam o Tapuach . Havia espaço entre os troncos de onde eles acenderiam os galhos.
