הָאוֹכֵל תְּרוּמָה מֵזִיד, מְשַׁלֵּם אֶת הַקֶּרֶן וְאֵינוֹ מְשַׁלֵּם אֶת הַחֹמֶשׁ. הַתַּשְׁלוּמִין חֻלִּין, אִם רָצָה הַכֹּהֵן לִמְחֹל, מוֹחֵל:
Celui qui mange Terumah [produit consacré pour la consommation sacerdotale] doit intentionnellement payer la valeur principale mais n'a pas besoin de payer le cinquième [supplémentaire]. Les Tashlumin [paiements pour ce qui a été mangé à tort] sont des Chulin [produits non sacrés, et] si le prêtre souhaite renoncer [aux paiements], il peut renoncer.

Rebbi Joshua ben Levi said, if two alternatives are presented to the court, one chooses one of them9As a general principle, no crime can be punished by more than one punishment. There never can be separate penalties for testifying falsely (Ex.20:13) and plotting (Deut. 19:19). This justifies the alternative presented in the preceding paragraph.
