שְׁתֵּי שְׁקָתוֹת שֶׁבְּאֶבֶן אַחַת, קִדֵּשׁ אַחַת מֵהֶם, הַמַּיִם שֶׁבַּשְּׁנִיָּה אֵינָן מְקֻדָּשִׁין. הָיוּ נְקוּבוֹת זוֹ לָזוֹ כִּשְׁפוֹפֶרֶת הַנּוֹד, אוֹ שֶׁהָיוּ הַמַּיִם צָפִין עַל גַּבֵּיהֶן אֲפִלּוּ כִקְלִפַּת הַשּׁוּם, וְקִדֵּשׁ אֶת אַחַת מֵהֶן, הַמַּיִם שֶׁבַּשְּׁנִיָּה מְקֻדָּשִׁין:
Две впадины в одном каменном [сосуде], если один освящает [воду в] одном из них, вода во втором не освящается. Если они были проколоты [соединены] один с другим, как труба из шкурки воды, или если вода переливается через них даже на толщину чесночной кожуры, если один освятил [воду в] одном из них, вода в второй освящен.

English Explanation of Mishnah Parah
If there were two troughs in one stone and the mixture was prepared in one of them, the water in the other is not prepared. In this situation there are two troughs set into the stone, neither of which are attached to the ground and therefore both can count as vessels (see yesterday's mishnah). If the mixture of red cow ashes and water is prepared in one, the water in the other is not considered to have been prepared because the two troughs are not connected.
