Responsa su Hullin 3:14

Shut min haShamayim

I also asked [in my dream] regarding a slaughtered animal in which the major lobe of a lung was found stuck to the minor lobe. Is the halacha according to those who permit1This is the opinion of Ri ben Yakar cited by Rashi on Chullin 46b:12:3, and of R. Judah al-Barceloni, cited in Beit Yosef Yoreh Deah 39 or those who forbid2This is the opinion of Rabbeinu Tam cited in Tosafot on Chullin 46b:12, where Halakhot Gedolot and R. Moses of Pontoise are also named as forbidding. The Tosafot (ibid.) also mentions that in the locale of Rashi, such animals are permitted, and elsewhere they are forbidden.? Also concerning the extra lobe known as 'the little rose lobe' (Chullin 47a:5), if it is missing or if there are two of them, is this animal permitted3Rabbeinu Efraim permits a second such lobe in Tosafot on Chullin 47a:5, where it is also noted that the dominant practice follows Rashi and forbids this, and also that an animal with no such lobe is permitted. The Rosh on Chullin 3:16 quotes the Geonim who would permit an animal with no such lobe, or with two or three or forbidden?4This is the opinion of Rashi on Chullin 47b:1, who notes that this is a great controversy among earlier authorities. Cf. Beit Yosef Yoreh Deah 35.
