זָרַע אֶת אַחַת מֵהֶן, פָּטוּר, וְהַשְּׁנִיָּה, נוֹהֵג בָּהּ בִּתְרוּמָה, וְחַיֶּבֶת בְּחַלָּה, דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. וְרַבִּי יוֹסֵי פּוֹטֵר. זָרַע אַחֵר אֶת הַשְּׁנִיָּה, פָּטוּר. זָרַע אֶחָד אֶת שְׁתֵּיהֶן, בְּדָבָר שֶׁזַּרְעוֹ כָלֶה, מֻתָּר, וּבְדָבָר שֶׁאֵין זַרְעוֹ כָלֶה. אָסוּר:
Quien usó una de estas [canastas] como semilla, está exento, y la segunda es tratada como si fuera Terumah y requiere Jala , las palabras del rabino Meir. Pero el rabino Yosi lo exime. Si otra persona usa el segundo como semilla, está exento. Si un hombre usa ambos como semilla, si es de un tipo cuya semilla se desintegra [en el suelo] está permitido, pero si es del tipo cuya semilla no se desintegra, está prohibido.

Planting untithed [seeds] is prohibited, as is covering up untithed [seeds with dirt], as well as making [a partnership] with a Gentile with [respect to planting] untithed [seeds]. A Jew who forgot and planted untithed [seeds], they are exempt before they sprout because [the seeds] have already perished (cf. Ter. 7:7). One who buys [produce] for livestock, for wild animals, and for fowl is exempt from Demai.
