מִי שֶׁזָּכָה בְדִשּׁוּן מִזְבֵּחַ הַפְּנִימִי, נִכְנַס וְנָטַל הַטֶּנִי וְהִנִּיחוֹ לְפָנָיו, וְהָיָה חוֹפֵן וְנוֹתֵן לְתוֹכוֹ, וּבָאַחֲרוֹנָה כִּבֵּד אֶת הַשְּׁאָר לְתוֹכוֹ וְהִנִּיחוֹ וְיָצָא. מִי שֶׁזָּכָה בְדִשּׁוּן הַמְּנוֹרָה, נִכְנַס וּמָצָא שְׁנֵי נֵרוֹת מִזְרָחִיִּים דּוֹלְקִים, מְדַשֵּׁן אֶת הַשְּׁאָר וּמַנִּיחַ אֶת אֵלּוּ דּוֹלְקִין בִּמְקוֹמָן. מְצָאָן שֶׁכָּבוּ, מְדַשְּׁנָן וּמַדְלִיקָן מִן הַדּוֹלְקִים, וְאַחַר כָּךְ מְדַשֵּׁן אֶת הַשְּׁאָר. וְאֶבֶן הָיְתָה לִפְנֵי הַמְּנוֹרָה וּבָהּ שָׁלשׁ מַעֲלוֹת, שֶׁעָלֶיהָ הַכֹּהֵן עוֹמֵד וּמֵטִיב אֶת הַנֵּרוֹת. וְהִנִּיחַ אֶת הַכּוּז עַל מַעֲלָה שְׁנִיָּה וְיָצָא:

El que ganó [el derecho] para quitar la ceniza del altar interior, entró y tomó la canasta [utilizada para recoger la ceniza] y la colocó frente a él, y él recogió [las cenizas] y las puso dentro [la canasta], y al final, barrió el resto dentro [la canasta] y la dejaría [en el santuario] allí y se iría. El que ganó [el derecho] para eliminar las cenizas de la Menora, entraría [al santuario], [si] encontraba las dos lámparas orientales [todavía] encendidas, eliminaría las cenizas de las otras [lámparas] que se habían ido. los que arden en su lugar. Si los encontraba extinguidos, eliminaría las cenizas de ellos y los volvería a encender de los que aún estaban encendidos y luego eliminaría las cenizas del resto. MISHNAH: The second lottery: Who slaughters⁷⁶The sheep of the daily morning sacrifice.
