בְּצָלִים שֶׁיָּרְדוּ עֲלֵיהֶם גְּשָׁמִים וְצִמֵּחוּ, אִם הָיוּ הֶעָלִין שֶׁלָּהֶם שְׁחוֹרִין, אֲסוּרִין. הוֹרִיקוּ, הֲרֵי אֵלּוּ מֻתָּרִין. רַבִּי חֲנִינָא בֶן אַנְטִיגְנוֹס אוֹמֵר, אִם יְכוֹלִין לְהִתָּלֵשׁ בֶּעָלִין שֶׁלָּהֶן, אֲסוּרִין. וּכְנֶגֶד כֵּן, מוֹצָאֵי שְׁבִיעִית, מֻתָּרִין:
Cebula, na którą spadł deszcz i wykiełkowała, jeśli jej liście są czarne, to jest zabronione. Jeśli stały się zielone, są dozwolone. Rabin Chanina, syn Antygona, powiedział: Jeśli można je wyrwać z liści, to jest to zabronione. I [cebula] podobna do tej, w roku następującym po roku szabatowym, jest dozwolona.
Mishnah Oktzin
The [outer] leaves of vegetables: if they are green they join together, but if they have whitened they not join together. Rabbi Elazar bar Zadok says: the white leaves of cabbage join together because they are edible. So also those of lettuces, because they preserve the edible part.
