הַמְקַנֵּא לְאִשְׁתּוֹ, רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר אוֹמֵר, מְקַנֵּא לָהּ עַל פִּי שְׁנַיִם, וּמַשְׁקָהּ עַל פִּי עֵד אֶחָד אוֹ עַל פִּי עַצְמוֹ. רַבִּי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אוֹמֵר, מְקַנֵּא לָהּ עַל פִּי שְׁנַיִם וּמַשְׁקָהּ עַל פִּי שְׁנָיִם:

Un uomo che avverte sua moglie: Rabbi Eliezer dice: la avverte [dei suoi sospetti] davanti a due [testimoni], e le fa bere [le acque amare] sulla testimonianza di un testimone o sulla sua stessa testimonianza. Il rabbino Yehoshua dice: la avverte davanti a due testimoni e le fa bere la testimonianza di due [testimoni].
