אַכְסַדְרָה שֶׁנִּסְדְּקָה, טֻמְאָה בְצַד זֶה, כֵּלִים שֶׁבַּצַּד הַשֵּׁנִי טְהוֹרִים. נָתַן אֶת רַגְלוֹ אוֹ קָנֶה מִלְמַעְלָן, עֵרֵב אֶת הַטֻּמְאָה. נָתַן אֶת הַקָּנֶה בָאָרֶץ, אֵינוֹ מֵבִיא אֶת הַטֻּמְאָה, עַד שֶׁיִּהְיֶה גָבֹהַּ מִן הָאָרֶץ פּוֹתֵחַ טָפַח:
Se un colonnato è stato rotto, se c'è impurità da un lato [della fessura], i vasi dall'altro lato sono puri. Se ci ha messo sopra un piede o una canna, ha combinato l'impurità. Se ha messo la canna a terra, non diffonde l'impurità, fino a quando non è almeno un soffio a terra sopra la terra.

A man who was set beneath the gap: Beth Shammai says: he does not cause the impurity to pass over. But Beth Hillel says: a man is hollow, and the upper side causes the impurity to pass over.
