יֵשׁ בְּמִחְיָה מַה שֶּׁאֵין בְּפִשְׂיוֹן, וְיֵשׁ בְּפִשְׂיוֹן מַה שֶּׁאֵין בְּמִחְיָה. שֶׁהַמִּחְיָה מְטַמָּא בַתְּחִלָּה, וּמְטַמָּא בְכָל מַרְאֶה, וְאֵין בָּהּ סִימַן טָהֳרָה. יֵשׁ בְּפִשְׂיוֹן, שֶׁהַפִּשְׂיוֹן מְטַמֵּא בְכָל שֶׁהוּא, וּמְטַמֵּא בְכָל הַנְּגָעִים, חוּץ לַנֶּגַע, מַה שֶּׁאֵין כֵּן בְּמִחְיָה:

Existen [leyes] por un parche de piel saludable que no tiene la propagación, y hay [leyes] por la difusión que no tiene un parche de piel saludable. Para un parche de piel sano hace que [el Nega ] sea impuro inicialmente, y lo hace impuro con cualquier apariencia, y no tiene ningún signo [correspondiente] de pureza. Hay [también leyes únicas] al esparcirse, ya que la propagación lo hace impuro con cualquier cantidad, y hace que cualquier Nega sea impuro, [así como si se disemina] fuera del Nega , lo cual no es cierto por un parche de piel saludable.
