יוֹחָנָן כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל הֶעֱבִיר הוֹדָיוֹת הַמַּעֲשֵׂר. אַף הוּא בִּטֵּל אֶת הַמְעוֹרְרִים, וְאֶת הַנּוֹקְפִים. וְעַד יָמָיו הָיָה פַטִּישׁ מַכֶּה בִירוּשָׁלָיִם, וּבְיָמָיו אֵין אָדָם צָרִיךְ לִשְׁאוֹל עַל הַדְּמָאי:
Yochanan, o Sumo Sacerdote, rejeitou as confissões do dízimo. Ele também eliminou aqueles que recitavam o versículo "Acordar" e os aldravas [dos bezerros de sacrifício]. Até o dia dele, o martelo seria impressionante em Jerusalém. Na sua época, ninguém tinha que perguntar sobre Demai (produto do qual não se sabe se os dízimos já foram retirados).

They [may bring their grain to be] milled and stored (מפקידין not מרקידין, see Git. 61b.1) at the place of those that eat seventh-year produce, and at the place of those who eat their own produce in a state of impurity (ibid.), but they may not mill [produce] for those who eat seventh-year produce or those who eat their own produce in a state of impurity.
