Mishnà su Pirkei Avoth 6:12
רבי חנניא בן עקשיא אומר, רצה הקדוש ברוך הוא לזכות את ישראל, לפיכך הרבה להם תורה ומצות, שנאמר יהוה חפץ למען צדקו יגדיל תורה ויאדיר.
(Makkot 3:16) Il rabbino Chananya ben Akashia dice: Il Santo, Benedetto sia Lui, voleva dare merito a Israele; perciò moltiplicò per loro la Torà e i comandamenti, come è scritto, "Il Signore desiderava, per amore della sua giustizia, rendere la Torà grande e gloriosa" (Isaia 42:21).
