יוֹחָנָן כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל הֶעֱבִיר הוֹדָיוֹת הַמַּעֲשֵׂר. אַף הוּא בִּטֵּל אֶת הַמְעוֹרְרִים, וְאֶת הַנּוֹקְפִים. וְעַד יָמָיו הָיָה פַטִּישׁ מַכֶּה בִירוּשָׁלָיִם, וּבְיָמָיו אֵין אָדָם צָרִיךְ לִשְׁאוֹל עַל הַדְּמָאי:
Yochanan le Grand Prêtre a rejeté les confessions de la dîme. Il a également éliminé ceux qui récitaient le verset «Réveillez-vous» et les heurtoirs [des veaux sacrificiels]. Jusqu'à son jour, le marteau allait frapper à Jérusalem. En son temps, personne n'avait à poser des questions sur Demai [produit dont on ne sait pas si la dîme était déjà prélevée].

They [may bring their grain to be] milled and stored (מפקידין not מרקידין, see Git. 61b.1) at the place of those that eat seventh-year produce, and at the place of those who eat their own produce in a state of impurity (ibid.), but they may not mill [produce] for those who eat seventh-year produce or those who eat their own produce in a state of impurity.
