יוֹחָנָן כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל הֶעֱבִיר הוֹדָיוֹת הַמַּעֲשֵׂר. אַף הוּא בִּטֵּל אֶת הַמְעוֹרְרִים, וְאֶת הַנּוֹקְפִים. וְעַד יָמָיו הָיָה פַטִּישׁ מַכֶּה בִירוּשָׁלָיִם, וּבְיָמָיו אֵין אָדָם צָרִיךְ לִשְׁאוֹל עַל הַדְּמָאי:
Yochanan el Sumo Sacerdote desestimó las confesiones del diezmo. También eliminó a los que recitaban el verso "Despierta" y los aldabas [de las pantorrillas de sacrificio]. Hasta su día, el martillo golpearía en Jerusalén. En su día, nadie tenía que preguntar sobre Demai [producto del cual no se sabe si ya se tomaron los diezmos].

They [may bring their grain to be] milled and stored (מפקידין not מרקידין, see Git. 61b.1) at the place of those that eat seventh-year produce, and at the place of those who eat their own produce in a state of impurity (ibid.), but they may not mill [produce] for those who eat seventh-year produce or those who eat their own produce in a state of impurity.
