הַזִּיזִין, וְהַגִּזְרִיּוֹת, וְהַשּׁוֹבָכוֹת, וְהַשְּׁקִיפִים, וְהַסְּלָעִים, וְהַגְּהָרִים, וְהַשְּׁנָנִים, וְהַסְּכָכוֹת, וְהַפְּרָעוֹת, שֶׁהֵן יְכוֹלִים לְקַבֵּל מַעֲזִיבָה רַכָּה, דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים, מַעֲזִיבָה בֵינוֹנִית. אֵלּוּ הֵן הַסְּכָכוֹת, אִילָן שֶׁהוּא מֵסֵךְ עַל הָאָרֶץ. וְהַפְּרָעוֹת, הַיּוֹצְאוֹת מִן הַגָּדֵר:

[Other objects that spread and block impurity include:] ledges, balconies, dovecotes, cleft rocks and rocks, windows used for light, sharp rocks, canopies and protrusions, which can support light plaster, says Rabbi Meir. The Sages say medium plaster. What is a canopy? A tree which is overhanging the ground. What is a protrusion? That which extends out of a fence.
